John Murdo, born 1901, was a son of Donald and Ann nee Mackay, 6 Lundale. He assumed tenancy of the croft and was married there to Georgina nee Mackay from Callanish; they had four children.

After the outbreak of WW2 John Murdo served with the R.N.R; he lost his life on H.M.S. Forfar in Dec 1940
