John Roderick (1928-1995) was a son of Roderick Macleod and Rhoda Macmillan, 39b Balallan.

In 1950 John Roderick married Marion Morrison, of Bowglass, Isle of Harris; he was living at 1 Scaristavore at the time of the wedding. The couple lived in the south of Harris for a time, where John was employed by the Harris Crofters Association. They later settled at 89 Balallan; they had six of a family.
