Roderick, son of Roderick Macleod and Mary Smith, 39b Balallan was a businessman in his early years before studying divinity at Glasgow University and then at the Free Church College.  He was inducted in 1917 to Tarbert, Loch Fyne where he remained until his early death.  Roderick was a member of the Argyllshire Education Authority and a chairman of the Kintyre North School Management Committee.
