Donald Mackenzie (1840-1911) was a son of Donald Mackenzie and Christina Kennedy, 1 Old Orinsay.
The family were removed to 19 Crossbost in 1843 when the land was cleared to make way for the Pairc sheep farm.
In Stornoway, in 1877, he married Ann Maciver, 36 Upper Bayble. Donald and Ann settled at 19a Crossbost and they had six children.
