Donald Mackenzie (1840-1906) was a son of Murdo Mackenzie and Catherine Macdonald, 6 Old Orinsay.
Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 15 Crossbost.
In Lochs, in 1867, he married Catherine Mackenzie, 13 Marvig. Donald and Catherine settled at 15 Crossbost and they had three children.
Donald was widowed in 1874 and three years later married Margaret Macmillan, 3 Gravir. The couple had six children.
