John (1833-1902) was a son of Malcolm and Ann Macleod, 2 Old Orinsay.
Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 13 Crossbost.
He married Ann Mackenzie, 2 Leurbost. John and Ann settled at 31 Crossbost and they had four children.
John also lived there with his second wife Christina Macleod from 39 Ranish. The couple had four children.
