53498: Murdo Kennedy

Murdo Kennedy (1883-1945) was a son of John Kennedy and Elizabeth Montgomery, 33 Lemreway. He worked for the Crobeg Farm at Orinsay and lived at 13 Orinsay after his brother-in-law, Malcolm Martin moved to Crobeg Farm.

In Lochs, in 1912, he married Johanna Macleod, 24 Gravir. Murdo and Johanna settled at 13 Orinsay where they had seven children.

After the landraiding of Orinsay in 1921 Murdo took over the tenancy of 13 Orinsay.

Murdo was among those lost in the drowning tragedy at Loch Shell in 1945.
