Donald William, born 1925, was a son of Norman and Christina nee Macarthur, 13 Hacklete. He settled in Glasgow (living for a number of years in Hyndland) and was married to Christina nee Macdonald, 23 later 9 Tobson; they raised two children; Norman John and Christine.

Donald was employed on the dredgers on the river Clyde.
