5185: Joan Macleod
Joan (1899-1969) was the daughter of Donald Macleod and Mary Macleod, of 3 am Poileagan.
In 1922 her parents obtained 20 Gress, but it is not clear if Joan was still living in the family home at this time.
She settled at 8 Anderson Road, Stornoway where she worked as a housekeeper for John Macrae.
In 1946 she married widower John A Maciver and they settled at Soval where John was the gamekeeper. Through this marriage she gained five step-children: Donald, Colin, Kenneth, Angus and Finlay.
