Norman Mackay
Norman, born 1880, was a son of Hugh and Ann nee Macleod, 31 Valtos. He assumed tenancy of the croft; was married to Phylis Ann Tatham from Yorkshire and had one son, Kenneth John. Norman was the 'Inspector for the Poor' and Justice of the Peace in Valtos
During WW1 Norman was a sergeant with the Durham Light Infantry.
