Tormod Iain Thormoid
Norman Macleod (1837-1914) was a son of John Macleod and Catherine Macdonald, 4 Old Orinsay.
Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 48 Leurbost.
In 1851 he was working on his maternal grandparent's croft at 9 Garyvard and in 1861 was working for widow Ann Macleod at 4 Garyvard.
In Lochs, in 1866, he married Mary Macdonald, 61 Balallan. Norman and Mary settled at 9 Garyvard and they had two sons.
Norman was widowed in 1870 and married Catherine Macleod, 35 Gravir in 1871. The couple had three children.
