5114: Angus Maciver

Angus Maciver (born 1925) was a son of John A Maciver and Mary Ann Macdonald, Gamekeepers House, Soval. He resided in Stornoway with his wife who was from Habost, Lochs. 

Towards the end of the Second World War, on Victory in Europe Day, Angus was in Bombay, India. The following day he was instructed to prepare for Burma, as the War there was not yet over. He travelled with 700 other men on a train journey which took five days, under very primitive conditions.
