Malcolm Macleod

Malcolm, born c1869, was a son of John and Margaret nee Smith, 29 Valtos. He was the headmaster at Crowlista public school and married to Jean nee Macritchie, Crowlista.

It seems that Malcolm spent two years as headmaster at Valtos School during the Great War, replacing Mr Morrison who was serving in France, while Mrs Mackenzie, the minister's wife, took his place at Crowlista. He returned to Crowlista at the end of 1918.

They had three children; Colin Iain (1908- 17th April 1927) - a medical student, Annabella (1910-1999) - unmarried, was a matron in the County Hospital and Angus (1912- 28th Feb 1963) - a doctor in Stornoway who was married with two children; Fiona and Colin Iain.
