49072: Hector Matheson
Hector (1894-1917) was a son of Donald Matheson and Ann Macleod, 22 Valtos and later 10 Reef.
He was one of several young men from the village of Valtos, Uig, who went to serve in the First World War. Hector reached the rank of sergeant in the First Gordon Highlanders and at twenty-three years of age, died in action in France on 16th June 1917.
