Donald Smith (born1821) was a son of Alexander Smith and Marion Beaton, 24 Cromore.
In Lochs, in 1845, he married Ann Gillies, Croigarry and they had seven children. The family moved several times, in 1851 they lived at Leurbost, in 1861 Croigarry and in 1871 and 1881 at 27 Leurbost.
Donald was widowed in 1875 and in Lochs, in 1880, married widow Isabella Smith, nee Macdonald, 34 Leurbost. Donald & Isabella emigrated to North America.
