Hugh (born 1837) was a son of Angus Mackay and Janet Macleod, 16 Valtos. He was married to Ann Macleod, 31 Valtos and they had nine children.
In 1911, a new house was built by Donald Morrison (Domhnall Ruadh) for Hugh and Ann at 31 Valtos – today the house is known as 34 Valtos.
