John (1855-1896) was a son of Murdo Montgomery and Margaret Macarthur, 25 Ranish
After his father's death in 1861 the family moved to 8 Cromore.
In Lochs, in 1886, he married Christina Macleod, 13 Calbost. John and Christina settled at 17 Cromore and they had three children.
John died of Typhoid Fever in 1896.
It is believed that all three brothers from Ranish lived at 17 Cromore.
