John Macleod (born 1817) was a tenant of 17 Cromore but it is not know where he originally came from.
In Lochs, in 1838, he married Jessie Mackay from Sutherland. It is believed that they met when John was preaching in Sutherland. The couple settled at 17 Cromore and they had a daughter, Christina.
John was widowed c1840.
In Lochs, in 1841, he married Margaret Mackenzie, 5 Old Lemreway. John and Margaret settled at 17 Cromore and they had a daughter, Barbara.
