Murchadh Aaonghais Mhurchaidh

Murdo (born 1897) was a son of Angus Macleod and Isabella Kennedy, 11 Cromore.

On November 30, 1915 he enrolled in the Royal Naval Reserve Service Number A8774. His record indicates that he was 5ft 10in tall with brown eyes and a fair complexion. Murdo was immediately Mobilised and served in the Royal Navy in the First World War. Based at HMS Vivid III and aboard HMS Alsatian and  HMS Alaunia. He was also based at HMS President III, the HQ for men serving on Defensively Armed Merchant Ships (DAMS). Murdo was awarded £10.0.0 in Prize Money and his name is mentioned in  Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.

He married Margaret Macleod, 24 Cromore. Murdo and Margaret settled at 11 Cromore and they had seven children.
