46301: Margaret Matheson

Margaret, born in 1882, was a daughter of Murdoch Matheson and Catherine nee Macleod, Southampton, Ontario (this family lived in High Borve, Lewis before emigrating to Canada in the early 1860s. The Matheson family had previously lived in Reef, Uig, before being cleared and relocated to High Borve).

As a young woman she worked as a seamstress and also looked after her mother, Catherine, and her sister, Isabelle, who were both in poor health. In 1920 she was finally able to marry her long-time sweetheart, George N Macdonald, Southampton, Bruce County after these family obligations were completed; they settled in Ohio, USA.
