4622: Donald Nicolson

Donald (1811-1859) was a son of John Nicolson  and Christina Nicolson, Eishken.

In Lochs, in 1834, he married Anne Maciver, 15 Old Gravir. Donald and Anne were Cottars at 8 Old Eishken for a year, where they had one of their ten children.

Old Eishken was cleared in 1835 and the family moved to 14 Old Gravir. 

In the 1852 lotting Donald's  mother-in-law, widow Catherine Maciver obtained 22 Gravir and Donald moved his family to live with them at 22 Gravir.

Donald died of British Cholera aged 51 and is buried at St Colm's Isle.
