Mary was a daughter of Murdo and Barbara Macaulay, 23 Valtos. She married Donald Smith, son of Duncan (tacksman at Drovinish) and Catherine  Maclennan.

The couple lived at Deanstown, Lochganvich before emigrating, with their family, to Southampton, Ontario.
