Kenneth (1786-1868) was a son of Malcolm Nicolson and Rachel (unknown), Old Carnish. He married Catherine Buchanan, 6 Old Carnish and they  had nine children: Malcolm born 1819; Murdo born 1821;  Marion born 1823 (married Donald Macdonald, Kneep); Angus born 1825;  Mary born 1826 (married Norman Macdonald, Kneep - brother of Donald who married Marion); Donald born 1829; Ann born 1831; Kirsty born 1833 and Nicol 1835. 

In 1841, the family emigrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
