41181: Angus Macleod

Angus, born c1830, was a son of Angus and Mary nee Macaulay, Croir. He was a sailor, married to Johanna Gordon from Sutherland. He may have lived there for a time – his son George and daughter Margaret were born there – but after he was widowed he must have moved back as his family are recorded in the census living in Croir.

He later married Catherine Mackenzie ‘Catriona ‘an Thaillear, Croir and settled in Stornoway – although some of his children remained in Bernera.
