Catherine, born c 1837, was a daughter of Neil and Mary nee Macritchie, 8 Croir. The family moved to No 4 Hacklete when it was re-settled in 1880; Catherine inherited and, as she was unmarried, took in her nephew John Macaulay and his wife.
