Donald (1799-1874) was a son of Alexander Mackenzie, Old Orinsay. His mother was also a Mackenzie.
In Lochs, in 1828, he married Christina Kennedy, 2 Calbost. Donald and Christina were Cottars on 1 Old Orinsay, his brother Murdo's croft. The couple had seven children.
The family were removed to 19 Crossbost in 1843 when the land was cleared to make way for the Pairc sheep farm.
