38748: John Maclean
John was the son of Angus Maclean and Dorothy Mackay, 17 Valtos. He remained there after his marriage to Chirsty Mary Maclennan, 6 Valtos. They had four children.
John was a joiner and as well as building their own house he helped in the construction of the new Board of Agriculture bungalows at 12 Kneep, 20 Valtos and 37 Cliff and interior joinery in other local houses. He was also involved in the refurbishment of Taigh Coinneamh Rheithimir. He was a keeper at Hamnaway in the 1960s.
