36276: Margaret Mackenzie

Margaret Mackenzie (1806-1873) was a daughter of John Mackenzie, Seventh of Ballone and Barbara Maciver, of South Beach Street Stornoway,

Margaret married Alexander Macleod, of Valtos, Lochs. Margaret and Alexander had no children of their own but after Margaret’s brother, John Mackenzie, Eighth of Ballone and John’s wife Mary Macphee both died young, Alexander and Margaret raised John and Mary’s three children, John, Elizabeth and Anabella. The family moved to Garrabost, Point in the late 1860s.
