Roderick Macleod (1846-1918) was a son of Donald Macleod and Ann Smith, 7 Kershader.
The family emigrated to Canada in 1863 and settled at Bury, Quebec .
In Vermont, in 1874, he married Isabella Stuart from Quebec. Roderick and Isabella lived in Vermont, Portland, Maine and settled at Springfield, Massachusetts. The couple had five children.
In 1875 Roderick became a United States Citizen.
