Murdo Macdonald (1811-1872) was a son of John Macdonald and Effie Macrae, 8 Old Orinsay.
In Lochs, in 1833, he married Annabella Macritchie, 6 Kershader. Murdo and Annabella lived at 8 Old Orinsay where they had four of their seven children.
Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 22 Crossbost.
Murdo’s brother, Donald, married Annabella’s sister, Margaret.
