28926: Murdo Mackay

Murdo Mackay (1921-2013) was a son of Angus Mackay and Ann Nicolson, 3 Kershader.

He served as an Able Seaman with the Royal Navy during the Second World War.  Murdo was a Gunner on a Troopship and transported Italian Prisoners of War to South Africa. He also served in Cable Laying and later in the War transferred to the Royal Engineers and served in the Middle East.

After the War he joined the Merchant Navy and travelled the World. Murdo spent his last naval years on Dredgers in and around London.

Murdo was a bachelor.
