John Murdo Macleod

John Murdo (1900-1969) was a son of John Macleod and Ann Macleod, 27 Laxay. John served his time as a carpenter in Clydebank. After his apprenticeship, he emigrated to the United States of America, leaving on the SS Metagama on 26 April 1924. He worked on the Great Lakes for a number of years before returning to live at 27 Laxay. In 1936 he married Flora Macdonald, of 4 Park Barvas; he worked as an agent for the Prudential Assurance Company.
