Samuel  (1871-1943) was a son of John Macinnes and Catherine Macmillan, 8 Gravir. His mother died when he was 3 and Samuel did not appear in any Census. Samuel's father remarried in 1876 and the family moved to 19a Cromore and later 1 Kershader.

Samuel was living in South Africa at one time but returned to Lewis.  He married a Miss Cunningham and was later widowed. 

He died of Lung Cancer, aged 72,  at his cousin's croft at 11 Lemreway.
