Alexander (born 1868) was a son of Donald Macleod and Mary Matheson, 1 Kershader.  The family exchanged crofts with John Macinnes and moved to 19a Cromore.

Following his fathers's death in 1883 the family moved Buaile na h-Eaglaise, 54 Crossbost. Alexander married Kirsty Smith, 27 Leurbost and the couple emigrated to Australia.
