28285: John Macleod
John Macleod (1894-1919) son of Colin Macleod and Catherine Mackay, 25 Laxay served with the RNRT during the First World War. He was for some time with the Camerons which he relinquished due to ill health. John was drowned in the sinking of the “Iolaire” outside Stornoway Harbour when he was aged 24 years.
