Donald (1836-1917) was a son of Malcolm and Ann Macleod, 2 Old Orinsay.
Old Orinsay was cleared in 1843 and the family were removed to 13 Crossbost.
At Stornoway, in 1864, he married Janet Macleod, 25 Laxay. Donald and Janet settled at 13 Crossbost and they had eight children.
