Peter (born 1905) was a son of Malcolm Buchanan and Margaret Maclean, 18 Uigen. He was a gamekeeper at Kinresort, part of the Morsgail estate and may have met his wife there. He was a year at Kinloch before building his house at Uigen.

Peter settled at 18a Uigen with his wife, Margaret Mary Macleod, 20 Laxay. They had two sons. Their eldest child, a daughter, died aged five years.
