Malcolm, originally from Ardasaig, Isle of Harris, was the first tenant of 4 Doune Carloway, moving there in 1830. He moved to 5 Upper Carloway, probably after Doune was cleared in 1853. He married Mary nee Macaulay, from Amhuinnsuidhe, Harris.
