24325: Alexander Mackenzie
Alexander Mackenzie (1867-1944) son of Colin Mackenzie and Margaret Macarthur, 8 Laxay served with the RNR during the First World War. He was rescued after the HMS Hermes was sunk. Alexander married Mary Maciver, 11 Laxay and lived at 8 Laxay. They moved to 23 Laxay in the 1920s, conveying every stone in the house to rebuild there.
