John (1828-1907) was a son of Murdo Morrison and Margaret Macarthur, 9 Calbost.
In Lochs, in 1854, he married Mary Mackay, 7 Calbost. John and Mary settled at 9 Calbost and they had nine children.
After the death of his father in 1870 9 Calbost was divided into a joint tenancy between the two brothers, John at 9a and Alexander at 9b. Four of John's sons also settled on this croft as well as their cousin Alasdair Morrison because they could not get land anywhere else.
