23233: Margaret Macrae

Margaret (1855-1927) was a daughter of James Macrae and Jane Mackay of Miavaig Farm and House. Margaret married Murdo Morrison of 4 Laxay in 1884. Together they were to have eight children, four of whom died in infancy. They brought up Margaret’s nieces, Jane and Margaret, when their mother died young. 

It appears the couple lived in Lawers, Perthshire where their first son was born, with a second son born in Kenmore, Perthshire. 

The family transferred to Berneray in 1888 where they lived at the United Free Church Manse.
