Kenneth Murdo Maciver (1924-1978), son of Roderick Maciver and Christina Macleod, 3 Laxay was a seaman with the Royal Navy Patrol Service during the Second World War. He was weaving for a short time before moving to Glasgow where he worked in the Civil Service, then moving to London and from there he was transferred to Durham. His wife was from Sutherland.
