John Angus Mackay

John Angus Mackay

John Angus (1917-1995) was a son of Kenneth Mackay and Johanna Macleod, 7 Calbost.

He served with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War and survived the attack on the SS Michael E in 1941. The survivors were on liferafts for 24 hours before landing at Halifax, Nova Scotia.

He emigrated to Australia but returned to Scotland and married Agnes Nicolson, 20 Lemreway. John and Agnes settled in  Glasgow with their children.
