John, born in 1909, was a son of Donald and Henrietta Macdonald from 3 Breaclete. He took over the job of postmaster from his father and when he moved to Airigh Ard, Breaclete in 1960 the post office moved there also. John married Sheila Macdonald and had one son, Ian (married 1972 to Bella Ann Macleod; with issue).
