Malcolm, born in 1857, was the youngest child of Murdo and Annabella Macdonald from 18 Tobson. He lived in Thule House, using a room to run his business "Malcolm Macdonald & Son, General Merchant". He married Margaret Macdonald, "Maggie Beauly" in Edinburgh in the year 1900. They had four children, three daughters and one son John Murdo,who carried on the business after Malcolm died.
