Janet (born 1832) was the youngest child of Zachariah Macaulay and Margaret Mackenzie, Bosta. She married Colin Maclean, 12 Crowlista. They had at least six children.

In 1871 the family is in Crowlista but by 1881 they have moved to Shieldaig, Applecross.
