Roderick John (1924-2009) was a son of Alexander Mackenzie and Matilda Mackenzie, 4 and 4a Calbost and a twin of Donald. The family moved to 12 Calbost in 1933.
He served throughout the Second World War with the Royal Navy. He is mentioned in the Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War.
At Kelvin, Glasgow, in 1956, he married Christina Ann Matheson from 5 Upper Shader. Roderick John and Christina Ann settled in Glasgow.
