Iain Uisdein

John was a son of Hugh Brown and Peggy Mackinnon, 7 Islivig.

At Stornoway, in 1935, he married  Mary Macleod, 3 Calbost.   John and Mary settled at 3 Calbost and they had five children. 

John served on the Atlantic Convoys in the Merchant Navy during the Second World War. His name is mentioned in Roll of Honour: Pairc, Second World War. 

After the War the family moved to Glasgow.
