Donald (1894-1914) was a son of John Kennedy and Anne Nicolson, 2b Calbost. The family moved to 24 North Beach Street, Stornoway in the late 1900s. Donald's last known address was 4 Maciver's Buildings, Stornoway.
He served with the Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders Service Number 3/5308 in the First World War. Donald was killed in action in France at the age of 20. He is buried in the Tyne Cot Memorial Cemetery at Ypres (now Leper) SP. Mem. 58. He is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918. and his name is commemorated on the Stornoway War Memorial and the Nicholson Institute War Memorial panel.
