Farquhar Macleod
Farquhar Macleod (1886-1977) was a son of Murdo Macleod and Christina Montgomery, 11 Habost.
In 1910, at Portree, Isle of Skye, he married Joan MacKinnon from 1 Flodabay. Farquhar and Joan lived at Manish, Nethy Bridge and North Uist and they had three children.
Farquhar served as a Sergeant in the Seaforth Highlanders, 78th Regiment during the First World War. He is mentioned in Loyal Lewis: Roll of Honour 1914-1918.
He was headteacher in Manish and Nethy Bridge. From 1919 he was headteacher of Dunskellar School, North Uist. He later retired to Edinburgh.
